Battletoads: One of the hardest game you will ever play. Rumors have it that there was going to be a sequel but the alpha was so incredibly hard that no one could beat, not even the makers, and they had to scrap it.
Have you even played those games? Do you know the plot? I think not. It starts in almost the exact same spot as the original except for the crossover with Double Dragon which in terms of a game's lore ISN'T canon. Aside from that those "sequels" have no line in with the first's plot. It doesn't even say Battle Toads 2. Get your facts straight and Wiki ain't the place for it. Let's look at those "sequels":
Gameboy "sequel" - Complete disambiguity with the orginal title. Completely different game. Not a sequel. SNES "sequel" - Could pass as a sequel by the standards at the time if not for the fact that it was a crossover game. Not canon in game lore terms. Arcade "sequel" - Begins in the same place as the orginal. I actually played this one so I know personally that this one is a remake. Not a sequel. BT & DD "sequel" - Obviously a crossover game. If you think that's a sequel then have your eyes checked. Crossovers are not sequels. If you say it is then every game that Street Fighter guest starred in is a sequel to the original game and canon line.
FYI Wiki isn't, in the slightest, a good sourcing spot. Many times it has been wrong and this is one of them.
By your logic, there is only 1 mario game then? It's just the same remade. Zelda? How about Metriod or Halo where the time line bounces around? Not to mention time travel stories and games without story.
Joke or not, you were wrong. When corrected, you make excuses rahter then just saying you didn't know. I have played Battletoads arcade, and finished it. I also finished the Snes game. They don't share a story line. Again, the logic is flawed as World War 2 game series are, by your logic, all remakes. Your the one getting flustered and trying to worm out of a situation and are just making it worse for yourself.
